Holistic Healthcare Design
The $800 million Eskenazi Health complex is the flagship campus of one of the nation’s largest safety-net healthcare systems. Designed to replace its century-old predecessor, this state-of-the-art facility embodies a new era of care. We were honored to design its “front door,” the Ambulatory Care Building, featuring an extended front façade and canopy, welcoming visitors to the hospital complex.
The Impact
The six-story facility features 190,000 SF of outpatient clinical space, offering essential services like primary care, ophthalmology, and obstetrics. Its design incorporates a simplified floor plan centered around a central corridor, ensuring swift access with no more than two turns to any point within. Strategically positioned areas of care facilitate efficient patient transfers, while the transparent east façade creates an inviting entrance, symbolizing its dedication to serving the entire Indianapolis community with compassion and accessibility.
The Sky Farm
Located atop the Sandra Eskenazi Outpatient Care Center, The Sky Farm invites patients, staff, and the community to engage with and learn about fresh produce and its benefits for a healthy lifestyle.
