Shortly after joining the Big East Conference, the University of Louisville decided to increase the amount of multipurpose, on-campus training space for its Athletic Department. Seeking a fast and efficient project timeline, the University opted to engage a team of architects, engineers and builders to construct the facility using a design/build method.
The Trager Indoor Training Center is comprised of a 92,917 sq. ft. main building with an adjacent 5,000 sq. ft. support building. The main facility consists of a pre-engineered metal building structure accommodating a 120-yard full length FieldTurf football field, a four-lane sprint track, a long jump pit, a pole-vault area and batting cages. Intended primarily for football, the building also accommodates numerous other sports, including track and field, baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse and field hockey.
RATIO provided schematic design and specifications for this design/build project. Able Construction Company, with their architect, completed the job with RATIO’s construction administration services.
