The Expo 2010 Shanghai China was held on the waterfront green belt of the Huangpu River with the theme of "Better City - Better Life".
In order to accommodate the 246 participating countries and their pavilions, organizers planned the largest-ever World’s Fair site – including the World Expo 2010 Center, intended to serve as the event’s main exposition hub.
One of the four permanent facilities built for Expo 2010 Shanghai, the Center features 97,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, a 2200-seat auditorium, a 600-seat auditorium, an 86,000 sq. ft. banquet hall and almost 200,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.
A record 73 million people attended the six-month event, which solidified Shanghai’s status as a 21st-Century center of power and influence. Today, the Expo Center serves as the premier convention and exhibition facility in Shanghai.
