Designed by legendary architect Walter Netsch, the Brutalist University Hall towers 338 feet over the University of Illinois at Chicago and the city’s West Side. Constructed in 1963, by 2015 the structure’s concrete façade and window wall system was in need of complete restoration.
The University selected RATIO to lead the exterior repair and restoration of the iconic 28-story tower. The project included concrete restoration, gallery roof replacement, and the redesign of the building’s window wall system.
